Congratulations to Future Leader Sarah who will being travelling to Kathmandu, Nepal in April to spend four weeks working on a disaster relief project with Projects Abroad
, their mission is to encourage young people to volunteer for worthwhile work in developing countries and since 1992 has sent over 100,000 volunteers from all walks of life to volunteer projects in the developing world.
In 2015 Nepal was struck by a devastating earthquake that killed over 8,000 people and destroyed homes and schools. The aim of the project is to help rebuild some of the 24,000 classrooms that were damaged or destroyed during the earthquake to allow children to return to school and receive an education. Sarah is looking forward to working alongside community members and other volunteers from around the world.
The Future Leaders Fund
supports young people aged 17-24 looking to grow as leaders by helping others in voluntary projects. It allows the leaders of today to support the growth of tomorrow's leaders by allowing them to develop and grow whilst doing good. We wish Future Leader Sarah all the best on her trip and pleased to being supporting her great work with a Future Leaders Fund grant. Comments?
